Where can I get a used trans and engine for a 91 Ls400 and how much do they normally run separately. Also has anybody put the newer v8 into the older LS400?

 

I have seen motor with tran for $350.00. I would recommand a local classified ads. Look for totally wrecked LS.

 

I saw a engine with 59k on it for $1800 on ebay and I thought that was a little high!! I don't need the engine right now because my car seems to be running fine with the exception of some smoke on start up, but I guess that's not to bad with 212k on the clock. If I find a good drivetrain for a decent price I would purchase it for a spare. I really appreciate the info.
