Just got a nice set of sheepskins, can't wait to put them on but can't get headrest off, and no one can help me until Tuesday, I found somewhere that if you push on the two round plastic supports while pulling it should come out, I can't figure it out, please help. I am a locksmith and remove door panels constantly but this one has me scratching my head.

 

Not sure on a 97 but on a 94 if you extend the headrest right out as far as it will go on the power feed then you press the two plastic surrounds hard straight down and the head rest should sort of pop up a bit and you will be able to lift it out .
I can't imagine it would be any different for your model .

Just so oyu are aware...if these seat covers are full coverage, they will interfere with the deployment of the seat mounted side airbags.
