or just turn the car off when the wipers are fully extended.

As for wipers, I use Michelins, and they are great. I tried Goodyears once and they sucked, never again.

The base Michelin blades sold at Costco and Walmart last on the Corolla about 8-10 months. I picked up some of the Walmart Supertech that were about $.70 less. Both come from Vietnam. I have little expectation other than I would like them to last through the limited CA rainy season. The car sits out on the driveway so wiper blades seldom last more than a year including the Toyata inserts.

Been meaning to try those Piaa's. I bought a supply of the Toyota inserts and those last me a good spell. The car is in the garage so that helps lots.
