How do u take off the windshield wipers? I have unscrewed the black bolt on the outside for both of them, but they dont pull off or anything like i figured they would. Anyone have any ideas????
I assume you want to change the rubber wiper blade itself. If so, no need to remove the whole assembly. But, you do have to cut off the original blades from the metal frame.
If you buy Lexus replacements you'll get 2 different size pieces of rubber spaghetti from the parts dept. Now look at the original wiper blade. Look at the end that has a "fat" part. Cut the rubber with a razor.
After you cut the old blade you should be able to slide it out of the 5 or 6 "C" guides that hold it in. Keep the flat metal pieces from both sides of the blade. You'll need them.
Now take the replacement spaghetti blade and fit the metal pieces on either side of it. Then feed the blade back thru the "C" guides. When the new blade is fed all the way in you'll need to flex (bow) the blade to get the new one "home".
That's all there is to it.
If you mean the entire blade assembly, I believe there is also a clip holding it from underneath. Haven't done one myself so can't help beyond that.
I am trying to remove the wiper blade at present - pressed in the little lug and pulled and pulled and pulled - no joy. The thing will not budge. I've tried it at all angles as well. Any ideas on how to get a wiper blade assembly off the arm?
I am going to replace it with a PIAA blade assembly ...
