Default Anyone seen the new Mercedes HIDs?

The new C class mercedes have a strange HID setup. From far away it looks slightly yellow but then when it goes over a speed bump, there is a flicker of purple and pink at the top of it's housing. Does this flicker belong to the housing or the projectors? I haven't had a chance to look at it from up close yet.

Is it the scatterglass housing (most models) or the projector housing (Sport models)?

audis and VW's do the same thing, however only their halogen projectors do this.

I'm guessing it might be the 4-cylinder C-Class with the Sport package, which has projectors, but I believe halogen bulbs.

I don't think the New-C has projector housing.

Here's a C with projectors:

Also, check out the C230 Sport: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...0k/index2.html

Is it a property of the lens or the overall projector? I believe I saw it on the M class as well.

Intellexual should be explaining this.

VWs, Audis, BMWs, new Lexus SC430s, Honda S2000, M/B do this..

It is only with cars that have HID Projectors or Multi reflective housings.. It is how the light defused from the projector at different angles.. Several members of CL have done BMW headlight retrofits into their SCs and older GS's to achieve this same look.... just do a search for BMW retrofit.

Different between Lexus projectors and BMW, Audi, M/B
Lexus is on the left

Lexus is on the right

BMW

Our internals are COMPLETELY different.

I have already done the e39 retrofit. I just don't have the glimmer of purple and orange at the very upper tip of the projector that the new M class (and C class?) have. I only have the overall purple glimmer.

What bulb are you using? You won't get this unless you use the factory blubs.. Also, some models of BMW's didn't have that color shift.
