Default New Headlights

Here is a pics of the new set of headlights I put in this weekend. And I don't even have any left over bolts. They look clearer than this picture. I also replaced my emblems. And since the wheels were off I went ahead and painted the calipers and put on lexus stickers. This was a much bigger project than I thought but I am very pleased with the results. I took lots of pics for anyone who is interested in doing any of these things themselves. Of course it not like it has not been covered before.

Very nice. I would love to see more pics of the brakes and would like to know:

1. Which paint did you use to paint the calipers? Where did you get the decals? Are they just put on top of the paint or is there something that goes over the decals that will keep them from getting scraped off?

2. Are those brand new headlights? Or did you clean them out?

Thanks!

What no left over bolts????
How in the world are you going to upgrade the power to weight ratio? I must have reduced my weight by an ounce or two all ready.
Anyhow nice work!

Thanks guys The headlights I put in were brand new. I was going to clean them out but I bought a new one from ebay and then was able to sell the pair and with that money and a little something out of pocket got the other one.from the dealership. I would have got it from parts.com but they when I told the dealership about the internet price they came very close to the price so I picked them up and didn't have to wait for shipping. I have no patience. I was actually looking forward to trying to clean them out but just getting them out was enough of a project I was kind of glad I didn't have to do the cleaning step. I am going to start a new thread the goes over the caliper procedure. Oh and how I helped my power to weigh ratio is.... I don't let my wife in the car

Brad, do a search. The caliper paint is high temperature engine paint. The stickers are cut up CL stickers. The procedure is shoot, dry, and paste.

Looks real nice!
How much did you pay for your headlights?
I have to replace my left one due to the condensation problem and do not feel like going through the cleaning process.

One of the lights I got on ebay brand new 150 the other came from a lexus dealership. They wanted 350 but when I told them I could get it from parts.com for 257 they dropped the price to 327 (which is what parts.com lists as retail) and then gave me 15% off tha,t which made it around 279. You also need to get the rubber strip the sticks to the top. The dealer list is $30 they gave it to me for 10.50 these also are on parts.com. The problem I had with replacing one with a new one was that it was going to look so much better than the other one that I had to go ahead a do both. I am to picky for my own wallet. Hope this helps

I don't think so. I think I removed both lights and then installed the new ones. But I know that I did take some shots with the new uninstalled lights next to the old. They are on my other computer so I can post them when am at that one.

Do you still have your old ones? Would you want to sell them? Send me an email to Tony@fobx.com if you want to get rid of them.

Condensation is fine with me, I'll fix them up =)

Here is what I have as far as a side by side. As far as the old ones go they are spoken for. I will let you know if the check doesn't show.
The caliper pix are in the supension and handling section of sc300/sc400
