Popped in Silverstar Sylvania's
Rominl is correct. 8000K is blue, and blue light has a larger wavelength than yellow or white. Therefore it radiates outwards instead of forwards. What results is a glow of light known as "glare". This is what is blining drivers because it spreads outside of the beam pattern and above the cut-off line, right into other motorists' eyes. Compare for instance your halogen foglight which is in the range of ~3000K. Relatively no glare. However the three 8000K bulbs around it are engulfed in blue glare as seen below...
What would you pick PIAA or Silverstar.. I don't know which one I should get. I was first going to get HID but I dont have the cash. What would you think would look better. I think I am going to get the silverstar.. Should I put them in my fog lamps too? I drive on dark streets you think these bulbs will acutally look brighter then stock when I am driving so that I can see the road better?

Click here for a link to Dex's website with some comparison pics of the foglights.
I would get the Silverstars only because comparable PIAAs are no brighter and cost a lot more money for no good reason. Others swear by PIAA, but I've tried both Silverstars and Xtreme White Plus with no perceived difference (certainly not enough to justify the inflated price). If you want brighter for the same cost, buy the Silverstar 9005s and stuff them into your 9006 socket. Extra 10 operating watts and no cap on the tip.

I think that pic was actually snapped not long after I took my Greddy lip off.

Dex, how much were your PIAAs because I compared $80 PIAAs to $50 Silverstars. I've seen PIAA bulbs go for as high as a few hundred dollars...

If I recall correctly I got the PIAA's in a bundled two pack 9005/9006 set as I did both high beams and fogs at the same time. I think they were about $145 for the set of all 4 bulbs. I save all my receipts so I can check when I get back into town.

Most PIAAs here are around $60 or less.

You'll drop ~$40 or $50 on SSs.
Price, sure, the PIAAs are more expensive; no quesiton.
I was striving more to debate which ones are brighter.
When I saw the same wattage bulbs, in Yellow lenses, in a positive side by side comparison on which ones were brighter, that was my abolute proof.I mean, I'm considering the PIAAs for my highs, which I won't use very often, and there again, may not warrant the extra $ for their usage, but I'd rather by, what I perceive (key) to be a better quality bulb.
Shoot, I may get the SSs for my highs too for the exact same reason. Damn it, look what you guys mafe me do; change my mind again.
