Default 74/T5 LED mini wedge bulbs

The 74/T5 LED mini wedge bulbs I got from warden_jp2002 fit very loose in the socket. They will literally just fall out of the socket unless you secure them some other way. I figure most of these probably come from the same factories in China so I'm guessing they are all going to fit sorta loose, but has anyone bought any from other vendors like autolumination, v-leds, etc. that fit right?

I ran into the same problem.
I literally had to thicken the bulb with paper to make it fit.

Yeah, I ended up doing the same thing and stuck a piece of paper between the contacts and the base, but it's still not in there very securely.

Which ones aren't crap (if any)?

Yeah, right away bud. Bulbs are bulbs, but being LED's they need to compensate by being a little bigger in size.

OP, you have to modify the slot to make it fit.

I am not going to reiterate what i had to do to these twice in my ES300 to make it fit. And i bought 90% of the bulbs from Warden_jp2002, and i continue to swear by him...

Check it for pics: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/4699347-post4.html

And a shameless plug here, but here is the whole thread!

Thanks a lot, great write up for the ES! I guess I should have also searched the car specific forums instead of just the Lighting forum. It's exactly that glove box light that I was having problems with on my SC and I wasn't sure whether or not I could remove the entire assembly so your pics were very helpful.

No worries!

At least someone else will benefit from my write-up, i can tell you now, on the ES it was a *****! Just an awkward position to get my hand in there to pull it out; just be patient with it!

I had warden and not only did I get blue instead of white, but they were loose as well. I switched over to v-leds with no problems so far

Do you happen to remember which v-led 74/T5 mini wedge leds you switched to? They have a few different 74 led designs/configurations so I want to make sure I get some that will fit correctly this time.

im new and this is my first post I replace the 74 wedge ash tray and gear shift bulbs to led. At first the new lights didn’t want to stay in but just don’t be scared put a cloth over the new bulb and push it into the socket until it clicks in, don’t be afraid to use pressure.
