AND I FINALLY GOT MY HIDS!!!

It was horrible tho. I was expecting UPS to deliver it today at my house and i was home in the morning. I kept checking on my tracking order and searching to see when will it arrive. But nothing. So while i was at work in the middle of the day around 3, i checked my tracking number and it said dropped off in front door. I got so excited i raced home, checked door... FOUND NOTHING!!! i was mad. So i went back to work got off at 6, went home and called UPS, they said it was dropped off at door and everythign suppose to be there. Since it wasn't, they said they will file a claim. It was shipped today at 10:30 and i was HOME at that time... damnit.

So they said everythign will be covered for just file a claim and contact the sender which was autolamps-online.com. So i did all that and it was o, 8 o clock at night. Then my phone rang and some guy who lived couple houses up the street said there was a package for me. I was shocked!!! could it be.. my HIV? hahah HIDs i mean. So i went and checked it out and it was... STUPID UPS guy, dropped off my package at 890 instead of 820.... BASTARD!!!!

O well i got my package and everything so i'm gonna see if they will still file a claim of loss or soemthign and see if i can make out with some free HIDS... what you guys think???

but yea, so right after dinner went to my girlfriends house to install in her garage. I was scared man!!! thought i would screw up or something. SO i just tried it. the instructions were scary also... too much stuff and not too clear on instructions. I installed it, test it and wow it was pretty easy at the end. Cant believe that the installation was not that hard after all. I think anyone can do it if they have COMMON SENSE. still.. just remember NOT to touch the bulbs!!! thats all... so i fit it test it and worked it.

Now i have the HIDS that i always wanted!!!

THANKS HENDRY!!! for helping me pick out the HIDS of my dreams... hahha well just thanks for helping out with all the info.

As for my fog lights. i took out batt and everything but man was it useless. The bulbs are blocked by some LONG screw and theres still no room to pull out bulb, i can twist it off but cant pull it out. So i'll just leave it.

I was also about to try to take out headlamp but had no idea how to so i said forget it. and stuck to what i knew.

Well that was my impression on my HIDS installation. Sorry its long but thats all what happened... hope you enjoyed the pics

Mike, Congrats on you HID's.... You finally got them... They look really nice... With those foglights, maybe from 99 to 01 they put some extra parts down there.. I got to them just fine on my 99 RX... I'll go and buy some lights so I can put them in and see if it can be done.....

Thanks, ya, those HIDS are sweet. haha i love it!!

as for price, i bought the 9006 philips ultinon kit 6000k for 579 at www.autolamps-online.com. They have really good customer service. Very nice. Only way i contacted them was thru email tho. But its not bad. 579 free shipping anywhere and no tax.

Mabbie you can find better deal...

good luck with those fogs Mike. I was bout to remove entire lamp housing just to reach it but didn't know how haha. so i just run my Low hids. I tried it with my high beams and now my highs are useless. O well, no need for them anyways.

as for intake.... YES big difference

I took my car in for 10k service so i removed my intake and cold air box and cleaned the filter and put back the stock one on. man my car didn't pick up as good as it did with the intake. with the intake, it picks up in the beginning. Works well. i like it. With exhaust both are NICE

Mike, the HID make are a huge difference in lighting huh? They look really bright. How do you like the beam for night driving, the road must be really lit up in front of you now.

Do you know if your kit came with the D2S or D2R type bulbs? I was wondering if, with an aftermarket kit, you can get the look of OEM HID's where only half of the reflector lens appears to be lit up. Your RX is coming along quickly now with the mods. I can't wait to get an intake and RMM exhaust now!

http://www.autolamps-online.com/gasd...ge/xentron.htm

wow check out these new Xentron kind of HIDS.... the future of HIDS... haha thats what they say. Looks easier to install. Less fuss. BUt i like mine haha

As for the DS bulbs... i'm not sure at all. But i do like my beam pattern... Works great. Great lighting on the road VERY BRIGHT. i'll take a pic tomorrow or something parents driving my car today haha dads gonna be suprised by the HIDS =)

but i know the ballast and bulbs are both made by philips and you can get all the information at www.autolamps-online.com They get all their stuff straight from philips. They emailed me back about my UPS problem and said they are on it. They also said they get their stuff straight from Philips.

I read about the Xentron system a little while back on autolamp-online's website. The only real advantages I see would be less components becuse they are combined. I still like the traditional HID setup. If a ballast, starter, or connector goes bad you could just replace that part instead of the whole Xendrive box. It also makes for a bulky bulb

I didn't know the Envoy used that, interesting. It's odd that the prev. gen. Envoy had HID's but not the new one. Not even an option. Crazy GM.

Mike, Congrats!!!!!!

Finally you got those Ultinons installed... I knew you're going to love them, and I think your HID (aftermarket) is brighter than oem HIDs...

As for the foglights... I also did it myself... s..l..o..w..l..y..

I know it's very hard to get to the bulbs, especially when inserting the HID bulbs in the foglights ... what a pain... But if you have the Patience and perhaps not too chubby hands, you can do it yourself -- without removing the headlamps. BUT be very very careful, those HID bulbs can be very fragile... where the glass connect to the base, I learnt it the hard way...

Anyways, I've posted the pics of my Manik steps on the other thread...

And those ultinons don't turn yellowish even after a long time...
