Default Glare

I just installed a plug n play hid kit that has a non-hid housing and the glare is pretty bad. Since i'm a little short on cash is there anything else i can do other than the retro fit or buying projectors. I drive a 2000 gs300 and the bulbs i use is 9006... Or any other suggestions??? I heard about shields and shrouds but i'm not sure if they make it for the bulb i use and if so where can i get this.

Thanks

Swap the bowls for HID ones and use D2R bulbs.

I have an 01 GS300 and I just installed 9006 kit from mobilehid.com and they are perfect..straight and level and the pattern and color (4300k)is identical to my wives 04 ES. I've been driving for 2 weeks now all over town and not 1 flash at me and also did a test myself in my wife's car at multiple angles and distances...no glare at all...looks OEM factory!!

That shouldn't make a HUGE differance, but from what I understand they probably will have more glare than a whiter bulb. I remember reading a lengthy article on blue light having more "glare" than whiter or yellower light.

Where did you get the bulbs from? If the bulbs are not properly re-based or manufactured, the point that the light emits from might not line up with the factory bulb and it won't hit the reflector properly. That will give you some messed up beam patterns and potentially some crazy glare.

It's probably not so much glare but blue light is hard on the eyes.

True. Blue light will fatigue your eyes quicker, I remember reading that; could be what I was thinking of.
