Another sc300 w/ tsx projector retrofit
I know, it's been done. But hey, i gotta share.
This was a retrofit I did about two months ago. It was for my brother who owns a sc300. This is probably my 9th retrofit, the one proceeding it was a ls430 retrofit I did on my Is300. The ls430s definatly has a greater advantage over the tsx, but it's not bad for it's size. The final product came out much better than expected. There's still one things i'm not to happy about. There's so little room in the housing that the project sits so low that a bit of the light gets reflected on the corner of the plastic cover. This decreases the foreground lighting and is somewhat not fixable. I could always aim the light upwards so it doesn't hit the edge, but that would defeat the purpose of having a projector that has no glare.
Anyways, here are some pictures as i went throught he process.
The project car, stripped of it's eyes.

Headlights taken apart and the lens is being sanded to get rid of the beauty lines. This is at the 1000 grit stage. The top has been buffed to show difference.

Bracked with all the fittings in place

Stock Tsx on left, trimmed tsx on right

Bezel secured in place and ready to be resealed.

Finished headlight. Notice the light reflecting from the bottom. This sways the cutoff.

Another one with the lights off. Nice and clean.

Bezel sits flush.

hey that's a nice shroud...good to see another TSX retro'ed SC...i'm somewhat having the some problem, the projector on the passenger side does not sit flush to the chrome piece so light is reflected off of the grooved part and totally screws up the cutoff. I'm kind of thinking of painting it silver, don't know if it will help

I love seeing retro'd SC's with TSX's. Excellent job!
How's your brother liking it?? By the way on the trimmed projector, you only trimmed that stuff on the right side (I'm guessing so that it will fit in the housing)? Was it mirrored on the other projector?
^And I agree with Kaydee, that shroud fits perfect. Which is it?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really interested in retroing my SC with some TSX's too

I recognize that wall from when you posted your IS3/LS430 retro. I pointed out the blemish on those output shots because I thought that was coming from the beam...sorry for the blabbing.
Man emoshun, you have a good eye. Yup it's the same wall. i use this wall cause it's on a flat surface with plenty of space for me to take pictures. Other than the paint patch on the wall, it's perfect for aligning your beams.
For those who are unfamilar with the thread he's speaking of, here's a link of the exact wall i used to align my ls430 projectors: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=13
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm very happy on how this turned out. Still waiting for the bulbs to color shift to give it that nice white hue, it's still in that yellowish-white hue. Ohh i forgot to mention, I added two washers on the bottom to give it a little bit more color across the beam. It's a solid blue line right at the cutoff.
