Hey HID gurus, YES ALL THREE OF YOU! I may have to drill into my housing to get my new setup to fit properly. There will be a hole in the housing itself and part of the projector will stick out if it. I've seen some people use foam..... (*cough* HIDtech ) to "create a new housing." I was wondering if there are any other solutions or is the foam good enough?
Another question: If I wanted to seal it back up PERFECTLY WITHOUT using silicone, what type of glue is holding the headlight housing together?
Ok...I can take a "stab" at it! Lol. Use JB Weld. That stuff pretty much holds anything together if you use enough of it. Walgreens sells it for like 3-5 bucks.
Update us on pics! BTW which HID setup will you be using? Like which brand projectors, Ballasts, Bulbs (color temp)? Will the projectors be DOT(US spec) or ECE (more advanced and better Euro spec)? Pics definately are helpful. its a language anyone can understand!

I actually don't have a problem with the mounting of the projector. I have a problem because my headlight housing is too small for the Bixenon solenoid. The motor will be relayed but the solenoid can't be. I have to either entend the housing, remove the solenoid, or scrap the projecto altogether.
BTW, the glue that manufacturers use is butyl rubber caulk. They purchase them in high volume and it is not commercialized.

Why not just get a smaller single xenon projector? Which car will you be retrofitting? If space is an issue, you can go Valeo ECE D2S or H7 projector with adapter. Either way, your output will be way sicker as well as the color and sharpness of the cuttoff. Its another option for you to consifer...other wise, cut a hole in the portion where your solenoid will go and mount them that way. The JB weld is to hold the projector in place. You still will end up using the factory silicon when refastening your lights. I use mine and have successfully opened them up like 10 times and resealed them with the original glue with 0 leaks and condensation! Its good stuff!
