Stripped down LFA pictures
Thanks to LexusEnthusiast.
Apparently, the driver manual has some pictures of a stripped down Lexus LFA with all the luxuries deleted. I doubt any buyer ever opted for this.
I am wondering about the production LFA dry weight of 3263. Is it with all the amenities?? or is it for this stripped down version with all luxuries deleted??

Wow the blue color scheme looks very nice and different. The alcantara also adds an extra touch. The space left by the remote touch delete looks awkward. Cellphone or coinholder perhaps?

It still has speakers, you can see it on the right door. So it's not stripped down. Stripped down would be no speakers or audio system, no leather or alcantara interior, metal floor (like the 599GTO, 430scuderia etc.) This to me looks like there isn't the mark levinson/gps enform option checked off.

3263 is not a dry weight as far as I can discern.

3263 is CURB weight according to Lexus. Dry weight is probably around 3000lbs. If the LFA was stripped, it might weigh near that. No (plush) interior, carbon fiber for the center console without the leather or alcantara, the POWER seats could go as well, and be replaced by fixed carbon seats with manual adjustments, carpet and floor mats could go as well as the leather or alcantara covered dashboard and ceiling. That's just the interior. The 'race car' had a carbon fiber 'air-box' on top of the engine, which I'm sure saved a good deal of weight. The wheels could be replaced by magnesium one's which would weigh about 8 lbs. Smaller lighter rubber could save maybe a few pounds per tire as well. The fixed rear wing could save 15 or more lbs. with the lack of the auto-raising feature. The car could go on and on if it were like a Scuderia or something like a SuperLeggera.

Thanks so much for posting.
Oh geez! Whatever happened to Lexus' claim of 3263 lbs of curb weight?? Now they have increased to 3461 lbs?? I guess, all the luxuries and amenities make it that heavy despite all the usage of carbon fiber.

I have no idea why it weighs so much. Its compact like a 911, the V-10 weighs like a V-6, it is CF all over and 3400 lbs.
An IS 300 is 3300 lbs.
Also not sure why the LFA weight is reported so differently everywhere. I reported the 3200 or so figure from I think duPont Registry.
Is that alacantra?

Here's a page out of the LFA owner's manual:
That calculates out to a curb weight of 3,262-3,505 lbs. and a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 3,659-3,869 lbs., which I assume means with the gas tank full.
Edit: Which I guess is the same as in the chart above.

Thanks Krew.
3263 lbs - 3500 lbs is a very wide range. What it looks like to me, if you delete a lot of the luxury amenities, you can get it down to 3263 lbs, but stock with all the equipment standard, it is more in the 3400 lbs range.

That page is from the "Inside the LFA: 2012 LFA" which is a supplement to the owner's manual. It contains a great deal of information much like the New Car Features manual. It's also a 78Mb pdf.
