Deeply appreciative of this, 07gr. My main concern about the car is the constant flogging of it from everyone (outside this forum). As bitter as these 'haters' sound, they do have some valid points. Very much so from the American market.
1- Common concerns include its 'low' hp, 'average' performance times for the price, heavy weight for being CF, offerings from McLaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and even Nissan as 'better' substitutes. Is Lexus aware of these issues and how are they handling it?
2- Have they read the reviews and opinions out there from the international press or online communities?
3- Is there any proof behind their claimed Ring times?
4- What's their game plan in convincing current/prospective owners of European brands that the car is worth at least $150k more than its nearest exotic and performance rivals?
I'm not so sure they're worried about selling the cars. I think they have most of that covered. There's only supposed to be maybe 30(?) left? I'd like to know what official performance #'s they can achieve. Lap times etc. What the curb weight of 3260lbs. includes. Is that the lowest possible, or can there be additional deletable options to make it even lighter? My MAIN question, is there any plans to take it racing again, Nurburgring 24hours, LeMans, FIA GT1 GT3, ALMS, SuperGT? anything!
The number now is 25. I am sure they are not worried about selling the remaining cars. I am sure most of them are Nurburgring editions left over for sale. They sold 475 already so 25 is a piece of cake to sell especially if they release Nurburgring edition lap times of Nurburgring.
07grIS350: I would really appreciate if you could get the satellite telemetry data that will be showing to you when they train you for 0-60 mph, 1/4 mile, braking, track lap times, peak g etc. I am sure it will include professional racers like Scott Pruett and Justin Bell first demonstrating them to you and then you would do the same runs.
I really want to see what the real world numbers look like

The instructors for the Infineon even will be from Jim Russell Racing, the school based at Infineon. I did not hear that Scott or Justin will be present.
I am confirmed for the 14th. It should be fun to hear who the other participants will be at the days Gengar, 07 and I attend.
Regarding the cars left for sale, there ain't no minimum for NRing cars. I hope some are sold so we can hear about them but it is completely up to market.
Regarding the value equation for the LFA vs this or that, it is tough to argue for the car at this point.
I have believed the LFA is positioned to be within performance wise reach of the high performers of the time but bringing a more comfortable, reliable and easy to own aspect the other cars may not have.
That being said, if the McL is a reliable car, it will likely win many hearts and garage spaces. I mentioned previously that the F, M and Aston dealer near work added McL to their list (also Lotus in the last year or so).
I'm guessing they have orders in place for the Nurburgring edition. It'd be foolish to even show the car if there wasn't any orders for it already. Maybe not 50, but I'm guessing they want to make more.
Anything you can add though about taking the LFA into racing officially? I know SuperGT is going to be having a new Toyota for 2012 since the SC's time is up. Or is it? What about the other series that I mentioned? Any European customers interested in racing LFA's? There was a rumor about Toyota's Motorsports facilities in Cologne using it to do 'special Lexus models'. What is that about? The LFA? The IS-F racing in touring cars in Italy? I wonder!
In neutral, that could only mean one thing, which is Lexus quietly put a lighter flywheel in the Nurburgring edition. The internal inertia is even lightened than already light standard LFA making it even easier to rev quickly to rev limiter.
