Evo UK already track tests and the Lexus LFA was way ahead of the '12 R35.2 GTR. LFA is in simply a different league.

Really? Can you please post their results? The 2012 GT-R does 0-6 in 2.89 seconds and can run the 1/4 mile in 11.0 flat...

The LFA is MUCH slower than that.

I would think the GT-R would win at a race track as well but I could be wrong...

Maybe with the slick tires it wears. I doubt it though. The handling dynamics of the LFA from the reviews so far indicate it's on another level to almost any car out there. If you put the same type of tires on an LFA that are on other cars in these magazine tests, I wouldn't be surprised to see it smash the field. Unless the new GTR is 5 seconds faster around goodwood than the 07 model, it's not going to pose a threat to the LFA in terms of lap times. I could be wrong, but weve yet to see it.

Apparently, its a footage of a guy who lives next to a new LFA owner. Imagine getting up each day and hearing that amazing sound.

Yes, around the race track, LFA crushed the 2012 GTR RS35.2 in the Evo UK 'best car of the year', as you might remember. They were highly critical of the understeer of the GTR and also the near 4000 lbs GT-car weight. The R35.2 GTR was placed at no. 9 and LFA was placed at no. 4 and it would have placed higher if Lexus had not taken back the LFA before they completed the track tests.

LFA also won the 'Evo UK: Best engine of the year' beating all the other 9 cars.

The Dunlop DSST 600 Sport Max tires are (extreme performance tires) very sticky that don't work at all in the wet. They are not intended to be used in the wet. Lexus LFA's Potenza tires (max performance tires) trade some dry traction to gain some wet traction and they are all-weather tires. But, the dry traction is not nearly as good.

LFA should have come with super-slick tires like Pirelli Corsa or Michelin Pilot Super Sport just like 599 GTO, LP570-4 and 458 Italia do.

And though GTR did test 2.9 seconds 0-60 mph and 11.2 seconds@122 mph 1/4 mile, LFA's trap speed at the 1/4 mile is 125 - 126 mph without launch control ever have been used. Lexus LFA so far has never ran a test with launch control system, which just got officially added into the prototypes.

Someone only very naive would believe 560 HP LFA truly is capable of running only a 11.6 - 11.8 seconds that have been seen so far with launch control system when a 435 HP GT3 runs the same 1/4 mile all day long.

The Goodwood 1:22.3 was with Ikira Iida as the driver and a passenger in the seat so LFA was faster than the older GTR by over 5 seconds with a passenger on board and camera equipment in the LFA.

Define "much". Also have you seen what numbers a production LFA runs with launch control? If you have, please do tell, because nobody here on CL has seen that yet.

As for the GT-R vs LFA at a race track, yes you are wrong. The few direct track comparisons that have happened so far with the LFA and GT-R, the LFA has won every time. Keep in mind, these comparisons were pre-production LFAs vs production GT-Rs.

Thanks Joe.

The Nurburgring edition looks amazing! I really hope they reveal its Nurburgring lap time (7:18) and it will take the world by storm.

I love this one just because it matches the AutoArt model.

A pre-production model testing at Infineon raceway. Despite it being pre-production, having ragged on miles, and crappier tires, the car was still able to pull 1.3 lateral g's. (Using the excuses I found here of course). That's insanity!

Edit: The car peaks 1.4 g's!

Thanks jp, that was fun to watch. I will have to memorize this video for my lesson next week.

I'm sure the anticipation is killing you! Good luck and make us all proud. Better yet, enjoy yourself and don't hold back! Also, ask questions that many have been wondering about. Feedback from the experts is invaluable.

If I didn't put any cars into wall(s), I would consider it a good accomplishment.
Please give me a list of questions to ask.
