Lexus LF-A Invitation
No problem, glad to share. Hopefully we'll get some more event reports (and maybe more pics!) from those attending the Dallas and NYC events.
As far as the finalized list - at the event, I was told by one of the Lexus reps that they were "hoping" to finalize the list by the end of the month... that doesn't look like it's going to happen, unless of course they contact us tomorrow.
I noticed S2000toIS350 got his e-mail with the finalized lease information quite a few hours before I did (he posted on the Car Chat forum before I even got the e-mail), so I wonder if the e-mail timings are in any way indicative of order on the list. I wouldn't be surprised if he's higher up than I am, given he got invited to the Homestead track event (and I didn't).
I also have a friend who owns a 430 Scuderia and a DB9 who will buy an LFA if given the opportunity, but has no Lexus ownership history. In the end, it'll be interesting to see who gets on the list and try to figure out why.

Great pics, thanks for sharing

It really does seem from those that have seen the LFA in person, it's got much more presence and is a more mesmerizing design than in pictures. This is the case with all modern Lexus models, but it looks to be even more so apparent for the LFA.
Also you are correct, the battery is located in the rear, directly over the rear wheels in fact for optimal weight distribution:

You should let TommyJames know about your friend who owns the Scuderia and DB9, and the fact that he is interested in buying an LFA

Here's that brief video I took of the LFA customizable LCD instrument panel. I suggest watching it in 720p if the link doesn't automatically force HD.

Thanks for the vid!!! Much better quality than the earlier ones posted from auto shows. As some reviews have said, the instrument panel is worth the price of admission (I wouldn't go that far, but I think the unique design of the instrument panel reflects the attention to detail paid to many aspects of the LFA).

As far as the instrument panel - I agree that it's certainly not a reason I'd purchase the car (even if Richard Hammond loves it), but it's another part of the car I'd like to see "trickle down" to other Lexus vehicles and maybe start a trend in the automotive industry in general. There's no reason we can't move to instrument panels that are customizable to the driver's desire.
Of course, the 600hL already has a very slick LCD instrument panel that seems quite a bit more refined than the LFA's, although I don't know if it is as customizable:

gengar believe it or now we see two items trickle down to the new CT....
The intstrument panel is one of them...while basic compared to the LFA it changes from blue to red depending on driving mode and adds a tach....

The other is the steering wheel clearly influenced by the LFA
