Lexus LF-A Invitation
1SICKLEX and bitkahuna should reporting their thoughts of the LFA and the event soon.
I just talked to 1SICKLEX yesterday after his ride in the LFA. It left him speechless like it did for me.

Here is bitkahuna's thread. We had a "roadtrip" in the GS 450h and then had basically a 6 flags experience in the LFA.

Went to the Chicago Auto Show preview event tonight at the River East Art Center. The matte black LFA made an appearance. Pictures and videos do not do the vehicle justice - as awesome as it may look in media, its presence in person is just incredible. Even my friend who tagged along who is a total Audi fanboy and R8 owner was totally blown away by it. Simply sitting in the car feels fast, which isn't something I've said for any other car, and it's truly a technological marvel. It was fun hogging the driver's seat when it was my turn and playing around with the customizable instrument panel, not to mention the nav and all the other standard Lexus features that they managed to squeeze in too.
Scott Pruett was also in attendance and was very active in talking to everyone, which was a nice touch. He was very friendly and spoke to me and my friend about his experience driving the car. He said that the most amazing thing about the LFA is not that it's one of the best supercars ever made, but that he's basically been driving the car all out at all the track events (like Homestead, which some CL members attended) and the car is simply bulletproof.
I was able to talk to several Lexus reps to reaffirm my interest in purchasing the car. Frankly, I'm ready now to buy this car and I haven't even ridden in it, much less driven it - but I'd pay in full tomorrow if Lexus said I'd get one. It's simply that amazing a car.
Pretty much all the rest of the attendees were wealthy riffraff (did I just coin a term?). I doubt many (if any?) of them were serious buyers; I didn't see anyone who knew much at all about the vehicle... not that I'm complaining about all the hot chicks that were there for the party.
Pics tomorrow maybe.

Hi gengar
I am glad you attended and had such a
positive experience
Scott is the perfect representative for
the vehicle
Was there a presentation about the
buying process
The final details are expected during the
week of the 15th

Last night, Lexus hosted a consumer event (by invitation only) for the new LFA super car. There was caviar, wines that cost 90 bucks a bottle and a really hot car to drool over.
Oh, and enough dealer people to fall over who might answer any questions you'd have about the hot new Lexus halo.
As soon as I got there, I beelined for the LFA, which was swarmed with people. So, I waited and skirted until I got a front view and had enough space to circle.
Then I hovered.
For a good 10 minutes. I even made eye contact with some of those dealer types. They looked at me. Smiled. Looked away. And started talking to someone else.
[...]
PS: When looking at the photo gallery, don't miss the guy in background wearing pink Hello, Kitty pajama bottoms. (Hi, Patrick.)
