Front speaker mounting depth

Front speaker mounting depth
Im goign to be ordering some components tommorow, just wondering if anyone knew the mounting depth for our front speakers. The components I want are 6.5 and have a 2 5/8" mounting depth. I know I have to cut to get the 6.5" to fit, but will the mounting depth be enough?

Hmm..
You could cut the stock housing if you were in a rush and did not care about sound quality or longevity. However, if you plan on making a quality baffle board/enclosure out of wood or fiberglass, then the depth is based on your own design. The stock housing is deep, but not very wide at the base. If you removed the stock enclosure, you could go 4" into the door, but it would not sound nearly as good.

I have Apline 6.5 splits in the front doors of my Soarer. No cutting, just made a new panel to mount them onto the door and that was it. Deep and wide enough.
