1997 SC400 stereo replacement
Nice clean car you have there, that was a nice find.
A few ways you can go with this:
A) RCA outs on double din to RCA low level in adaptor plug to utilize the factory amp and speakers, or:
B) Standard wiring harness and bypass(remove) the factory amplifier and run the new radio internal speaker output amplifier to the existing speakers using existing wiring.
C) Keep factory amp and replace speakers after doing A
D) Remove factory amp and replace speakers after doing B
E) Go full out audiophile mode and replace radio using the simple harness adaptor, but run RCA, power, and remote turn on cables from radio to a aftermarket amp, then run high end speaker wires from your new amp all the way back into the factory locations for your new speakers almost completely avoiding the use of factory wiring or components.
I have done all of these methods with great results dependent on what the end goal expectations are.

Good luck on your upgrades! You will really appreciate the improvements a double din Nav with bluetooth will allow you to have.
