Question 2 GS Subwoofer recommandations

I just busted my OEM ML sub last week and would like to get some votes to see which will best for me. Please give reasons why. I am looking for a SOLID, TIGHT, ACCURATE bass sound like thunder from the sky kind of bass, not rattle that my whole trunk shakes which like my friends Kicker L7.

3 subwoofers are Dual Voice Coil, should I do a Parallel or Series to my OEM ML systems?

I did some researches and some members here said they got JL 10w1v2-8 plug and play. I did more research and found the following products and are the best subwoofer as per this link.

The all runs around $100.

Rockford Fosgate P3d410

JL 10w1v2-8

not sure if you want to go this far, but i know the gs has a little ledge in the trunk. you can actually get a custom seal box built to fit there with 2 x jl 12w3v2 and just rock a jl 500/1 amp.

the jl 10w1v2-8 will hit tight in a box im not sure air free. i would also check out elemental design!!!

Whomever that guy is, he's no expert in any of the 200 fields that he's trying to purport to be one in. He's regurgitating what someone else tells or types up.

None of those products is "bad" per se, but they're far from the "best" in the subwoofer class. And you have me (and probably others) confused with this:

No offense meant, but do you know what you're asking about? Are you planning on using the factory ML amp to power the replacement sub? We need more information before making recommendations.

I tried to paired these subwoofers with my OEM ML system. I looked into getting another amp but wiring addition power from the battery and AV cable, take apart my car apart' it just too much work and time. I just want a subwoofer a little better than the OEM one like the bose subwoofer in my previous car.
I believe I under powered alpine, pioneer and Rockford Fosgate with my OEM system, but just want to get some opinions from you all. Thanks!

i wouldnt recommend running a subwoofer that outputs more power than your stock amplifier. you are going to risk the chance of the amplifier itself blowing out.

If you truly want "Tight, accurate, thunder in the sky" bass then you will never achieve it with you factory ML amp nor with any free air setup (except maybe a Velodyne DF-12sc if you can find one). Your best results would come from using a quality subwoofer in an appropriately designed and built enclosure with at least 300-500 watts from a good aftermarket amplifier. Notice that I didn't make any specific recommendations as far as manufacturers because I wish to emphasize the importance of the well designed and executed enclosure and the ample amplifier power. Lastly, the enclosure needs to be properly placed and aimed in your trunk. It will sound very different firing towards the cabin, firing backwards towards the trunk lid and corner mounted. You have to play around with it to see what sounds best in your car.
