no camera but just want to hook it up so the nav knows that im going backward. i heard the nav gets confused when going in reverse but it will correct itself down the road.

i might as well hook it up since i've already routed the wire from the tail light area to the h/u.

i see green/black and yellow wires on my harness. i guess i can hook up a test light and place my car in reverse to see which wires it is. just trying to save some time by asking here.

doesn't matter. reverse is for cameras. technically you don't even have to hook up the speed pulse wire. plus how often do you drive in reverse?

The speed pulse wire is important, Because it is connected for accuracy of the navigation system. If you have Z1 go to Menu>settings> and check yr connection. If speed pulse wire connected, You will see simple hybrid mode....Its help a lot if you got in tunnel ..or .. out of service ....and another so many other cool things about ...velocity display in digital.

how many tunnels in cali is there my z1 still works in underground parking that's the closes you will get to a tunnel in cali. everything works fine on my z1. i did not hook up speed sensor to bypass dvd and navi in motion lockoutbut i think it will still work with it hooked up. i think is only the e-brake that has to be grounded.

the new models you can hook everything up, ground the parking brake wire and then you add a wire into one of the harnesses and ground it as well.

I agree with you. 2 different version on Z1 , Before and after 07/06.... so you have two different method to bypass it
More info, please go to www.avic411.com

you can actually install the e breke, but has to be off before radio comes on, so i just grounded, less work . i have the switch too. yes pre 07. i heard the new ones can't be bypassed anymore, after nov models, but i think is a rumor.
