I believe you have to wire something that knows when the car is in reverse. Like, the back up lights.

you need to pull up the section around the shifter, and test the wires that connect to the harness for your shift indicator. there's one that will generate voltage when your car goes into reverse. i'll be in my car in the next few hours working on it, if you can't find it by then i'll write it down and just tell you the wire you need.

The part that was left out here is that there is an input to your headunit that is for "Reverse" on one of the connectors. They also give you a super-humongo long wire to be able to wire it to your reverse light in the rear.

When the techs start getting engineering degrees, then maybe we'll have something....

And here I thought all it took was being able to read instructions.

Maybe they weren't in French, eh?

Yup, it sure is. If it's not then I'm gonna be curious as to how my backup camera comes on automatically when i put my car in reverse

well it's either a purple or green wire. that much i can tell you in my slightly intoxicated state

i know the red with white stripe is the parking brake wire. Hit up Engin_Ear see if he can recall the correct wire when he did his car
