Hello I was wondering which amp or amps would work best with a JL 12 W7 sub. Money is bit of a issue for me since I pay for my own car while paying for school. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i recomend the PPI amp. the last year model. i dont know the model number but it handles 1000W i m sure, but it should look like the one in the picture below. It is VERY LONG and silver. This amp goes perfectly with the W7, is what i was told the other day at my local audio shop when a guy came in buying this. He too was useing it for a 12W7 ( one by the way).

PPI History:
Its gonna be hard to find this amp, maybe ebay has some because they are discontinue. Dont buy those new PPI amp, because what i heard is that PPI been bought out by Viper and so has Orion. (yes the famous alarm company). So what the viper company is doing is down gradeing PPI technology to make it look bad and turns around useing the same stuff and slaps on a viper shell. Its a marketing thing i guess . Just a little inside info i like to share as well

BTW be very causion if you do buy this amp for it is very sensitive. Have a profesional install it.

Also for W7 tip, do not place the sub faceing the seat. these subs are made to face the trunk, because it needs alot of space. other wise your sub will rip/shread/die out on you.

yup. PPI is known for their highs more than their sub power. i'd go with JL if you want to get am amp for your JL sub.

 

hm for the JL 12w7 sub does it make a difference if i get 2 500jl amps or 1 1000jl amp?
