Lightbulb Calling All Audio/video/wiring Gurus!!!

Hello im trying to install a rear view camera but having some problems.. I was wondering if someone can help me out how to connect the wires together.

I have an ALPINE IVA-D300 as my headunit..

Ok here are the pics of the wires..

This is the single RCA CABLE to attach to the alpines brain.. The WHITE wire attaches to the outside part of the RCA plug and the RED wire attaches to the center (nipple). The bare Silver wire i couldnt see where it goes.. it does not look like it goes anywhere because there was no soldering points on the Connector for it.

This (below) is the Camera Wires:

Im assuming the bare copper wires are connected to the outer part of the connector (ground)??

This is how i connected them:

1) WHITE wire from the single RCA plug ---> 2 bare copper wires from the video plug..twisted all three wires together

2) RED wire from the single RCA plug ---> YELLOW and RED wires from the video plug..twisted all three wires together

3) I didnt connect the Bare silver wire from the Single RCA cable... should i?

4) I connected a separate wire from the REMOTE terminal from my amp to the Positives (RED/YELLOW/RED) to feed it some power right?

BEfore i did this i had my key in the ACC position to turn on my headunit and amp. I used a test light and confirmed that i have 12V electricity from the REMOTE wire. I also had the Headunit in the CAMERA mode. I was able to view a picture when i attached my Digital camera to the brain, so i know that its working.

5) No video appears from my rearview camera.. but here comes the weird part for me. When i tried testing if there was current going through using the light tester.. it would shut off my amp and i have to turn off and on to the ACC mode again to get it running. Only the amp died.. the deck was still running. I connected the wire from my light tester to the ground (-) terminal of my cap and then touched the Positives(RED/YELLOW/RED/REMOTE). This test would turn off the amp everytime..why is that?

Feel like im getting so close..

THANKS in ADVANCE..
