Default plug wires specification(please help)

My 1992 ls400 still missing smelling raw gas fumes burning gas, OHM tested wires tested in k-ohms--number 1 wire 4.97,2 wire 5.14- 3 wire 14.83- 4 wire 15.45- 5 wire 16.54- 6 wire 17.17 -7 wire 10.73 and number 8 wire 10.80-coil wire rh-side-3.75 coil wire Lh side- 5.03 .Can anyone tell me if these wire seem good or bad . The only spark plug foul with gas was number 5 plug.Thanks for any help!!

The maximum resistance is 25 k Ohms so you're still in range, but they're close to being no good. You didn't mention how many miles on the car. Are they original wires? Seeing how your #5 plug is fouled out it's probably a good idea to do a tune up. (no spark) http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/ignition/ Do a search for tune up on LS400. There is so much info about which plugs, wires, ECT, oil, filter, etc. etc.

I recently replaced the spark plug wires in my 1990 with a new OEM set. I checked resistances before installation (k ohms):

1 - 4.76
2 - 4.82
3 - 15.04
4 - 15.13
5 - 16.16
6 - 16.48
7 - 10.55
8 - 10.62
RH coil - 3.88
LH coil - 5.01

RM specs 25k ohms max.

my wires are orginal did your car perform better? what wires did you replace with ? I just did plugs, rotor caps ,rotor buttom all except wires last year all oem parts.mileage is 216,000 that when everything happen!!!

I replaced existing OEM wires with new OEM wires. The old wires ohmed out very similar to the readings I gave earlier for the new wires. I was having an issue with idle speed and I did the wires and plugs at the same time that I replaced the ISCV and cleaned the throttle body. My car is running better now than it was before the replacement. But the wires were not the problem in my case. Sounds like they are not your problem either.

iscv replaced can you explain part name -- when i shift to drive from park my car idle below 750rpms and shake.

Normal idle speed is 650RPM + - 50. The shake you have could be the skip you have with the fouled #5 plug. You might not feel it, as much, with the idle being high. How high is your idle before you put it in gear?

ok you are about to spend alot of money there my friend
the right way to check a spark plug and spark wires is to take one wire off then take one spark plug off plug it into the wire turn on the car and check for spark i speak try each one
from expirience check them when the car is hot that is usually when they give up
my wires were in ohm range just like yours and 15-16 ohms is way to much for new wires it should be less than five ohms
did the above and no spark it has to be the wires i think its the cold weather
dont mess with the mass/afv /airflow meter youll just brake it
you could clean the iscv but i doubt its causing u any issues

My automobile is fix and glad i took my time in did my research,it save me a few dollars on guess work.Well it was my mass air flow senor,which also clogged up my throttle body.Import parts shop wanted $1178.68 whole sale for a new senor,advance auto wanted $499.60.I purchase one for a junk yard at $75 dollars.My 1992 lexus run and sound just as well as my 2010 lexus.My wires are ok at 216,148 miles orginal,plus I only burn 87 octane gas Shell or bp.Thanks to all.
