Does the accessory / ignition wire in our car round or give 12V when on....??

I assume this wire is used to turn on the amp as well

I am testing a bluetooth car kit in my living room with a 12V dc power source and it requires the connection of an ignition wire to turn it on (in addition to reg power/ground). So should I ground it or give it 12V@1A?

haha im too impatient, so i figured it was 12 and it was.


Im just going to wire this piece to a cig lighter and twist the ignition lead and its power lead together....turn the car on....cig power on, unit turns on

thats the easy way out hehe
