Question Audiobahn Set up - Suggestions

Well its time for a sound system in my car. Its a 94' GS300. I have limited knowledge on sound stuff so this is what I have come up with with help from a freind. Suggestions and comments would be great.

2 x AW1206T - Audiobahn 12" 1100 Watt Flame Q Subwoofer

2 x A8001DT - Audiobahn 1 Ch 800 Watt Amplifier

2 x Audiobahn 8 Awg Complete Amplifier Installation Kit

2 x ACAP3Q - Audiobahn 1 Farad 24V Capacitor W/Digital Readout

1 x ABC6003Q - Audiobahn 3-Way 6.5" Components

1 x A4601T - Audiobahn 4 Ch. 600 Watt Amplifier

1 x 10455 - Dynamat Xtreme Bulk Pak 36 Sq Ft

I was thinking about doiing a custom fiberglass box for the 2 subs and mounting them face-down one on each side with the 3 amps in the center and some how incoroprate the Lexus L in it with plexiglass.

What do you all think of this set-up?

Thats what I thought, instead would a 2400watt to power the 2 subs work?

I'm not a fan of Audiobahn at all, but that aside, 800 watts and a single sub should be plenty enough. More than 1kw dedicated to bass in a daily driver is overkill. Assuming that the 2400 watt amp isn't vastly overrated (which it probably is), then caps will just be bandaids to your voltage problems. You would really need to upgrade alternator/ground/power wires...

Ok, my problem is i'm a car audiotard. I was kicking around a few ideas and I came up with this:

The sub is:

PHAT 1.75" EPDM Rubber Surround
Spun Aluminum cone
Dual 6 Ohm
3 Ohm or 12 Ohm Operation
Multi- connect Lug Lock Terminals
PATENT PENDING
SIZE : 12"
Magnet Weight: 120 oz
Power Handling : 1000 RMS
Frequency Response : 18Hz - 500Hz
Efficiency: 96.4 dB
Voice Coil : 3" Dual 6 Ohms
Operation : 3 ohms or 12 Ohms
Mounting Depth : 5 5/8"
Hole Cutout : 11 1/8"
Outer Diameter : 12 3/4"

Then either amp 1 or amp 2 (or a diffrent amp if both of these are incorrect)

Amp 1:
300 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms stereo
600 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms stereo
1200 watts x 2 @ 1 ohm stereo
2400 watts x 1 @ 1 ohms mono

Amp 2:
125 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms stereo
250 watts x 4 @ 2 ohms stereo
375 watts x 4 @ 1 ohm stereo
1000 watts x 2 @ 1 ohms mono

Then the power cap:
IGITAL AMP STYLE 3 FARAD CAPACITOR BANK W/ FUSED DISTRIBUTION BLOCKS
3 Farad Capacity
New Amp Style Design
Two 1/0 Gauge Inputs
Eight 4 Gauge Outputs
Remote Turn-on Distribution
Four Maxi Fuses
24 Volt Nominal - 28 Volt Surge
Auto on/off Blue L.E.D. Four-Digit Readout
Electronic Polarity Protection Circuit
Overvoltage Protection Circuit
Soft on/off Circuit
Aluminum Heat Sink with Chrome Plated Cover
Wooden Gift Box
Dimensions: 12 1/2”(W) x 2 3/4”(H) x 10 1/2”(D)

As for the car I was thinking one sub on each side of the trunk with the amp where the spare is and a plexiglass backlight sheet with the lexus L in it. Again I am going for sound Quality not just crazy bass

I don't think anyone is answering because unless someone has experience running one of those amps at 3 ohms, we don't know if it's going to work. You can either buy one and take the chance, get an amp stable at 2 ohms and take the power loss, or buy two more of the same subs so that you can achieve a 4 ohm load (which is exactly the reason they designed their sub like they did, to force you to buy more than one)...

the problem here is you have paired the wrong specs with the wrong sub. The 1206T sub has Dual 4 ohm VC's. with two 1206T you can wire them together to get a 1ohm load and just get the amp that puts out 2400 watts. if you dont know how to wire the two subs to get a 1 ohm load there are diagrams on audiobahn.com .

Gary
All the Audiobahn subs that I have seen are offered with different voice coil options, not just the dual 6-ohm. They offer that for people that want to run 3 subs with a 1-ohm load. They have plenty of subs with dual 2-ohm coils, for a clean single sub, 1-ohm load if that's what your looking for.
