Android Auto Wireless?
oh and the car does not have wireless android auto, only plugged in. i got an AA Wireless adapter though that gives the car wireless android auto. works great.

Being what my son calls a "Technological Neanderthal", I am still trying to understand the advantage of Android/Apple Auto. I use Sat radio most of the time, and have numerous magazines of CD's loaded into my Jag XK8 CD player.
Why would I want to add my android phone to the confusion??

AA/AC also provides access to apps like calendar so you can see notifications for that.
another huge benefit to me of AA/AC is that if one uses it on multiple vehicles (i have an suv and the LC) then i get the same apps on both vehicles.

android auto / apple carplay allows you to use a lot of phone apps on the car's screen / controls. so instead of using the car's navigation system for example, you can use apple maps, google maps, or google waze, all of which are better. i know you're into CDs but millions of people use music streaming services like spotify or apple music (and others), and with android auto / apple carplay, someone can use those services and have easy on screen access to their favorite albums, tracks, playlists, etc. VERY convenient.
