Default Ordered the 2022 LC 500

I ordered a 2022 LC on 11/202021.. Any advice for a person like me that has zero information about the status of the car I ordered. Dealer can't give me a copy of the order with the specs of the car I ordered. They say this is only available when they get the build order from Lexus Japan. How can Lexus Japan do a build order without the specs for the car I ordered? Perhaps it is all done with codes. I'm a happy owner of an RX 350 (except for the voice recognition....nonexistent). Any advice would be appreciated, especially from someone that has gone through the process of ordering a car to be built

Coupe? Convertible? This is super exciting!

My brother has been wanting one since I bought mine....but sadly he opted to build a 2022 BMW M4 convertible instead because the backseats can accommodate his child. LoL

welcome. pretty lame that in 2 months you've got no info. i'm wondering if your dealer made no commitment to you that they're just 'hoping' to get one configured the way you want. if so that's even more lame.
i think you should press to see what they've submitted to lexus. and if no good answers coming out of them, tell them you'll contact lexus corporate.

anyway, tell us your order specs, maybe we can find you the car.

Very nice!
Did they give you a timeline on how long it would take?

I placed my order on 8 December and last week received an email from my dealer saying that he has received production confirmation of my specs, a good sign I would think. Still looking like no earlier than April for me and that would be fine, the snow might be gone by then!!!

I hope you get some form of confirmation soon.

My experience was that I sat down with the salesman and we used the configurator to design the vehicle with the options that I wanted. We talked about and negotiated an acceptable price. There was a little bit of back and forth haggling until the final price was agreed upon with input from the sales manager. There was a request for a deposit on my credit card and I was told the order would be placed, which was confirmed with me by the salesperson roughly 10 days later. After that I just pretty much waited, without much communication from the dealership, until I received a phone call about 3 and 1/2 months later that the car had a VIN and was ready to be shipped from Japan. It arrived at the dealership just over a month after that last phone call. It took a total of just under 5 months (from July 2021 until December 2021) for it to arrive after placing the order. I agree that as difficult as it may be, patience is a virtue, and despite the lack of communication from the dealership, your vehicle should arrive. Then again sometimes I am too trusting.

I bought 2 Lexus from them last year including my 19 LC500. Who was your sales guy? Mine was James.

Before this, I have experience custom ordering 2 IS350's from Bell Lexus and Lexus Santa Monica. With Bell Lexus I didn't hear anything or get any updates. Lexus SM was a little better but they still didn't provide a lot of info.

SS Lexus was rough dealing with getting my RX450h. I thought I had ordered or reserved one but they ended up giving me a slightly different one (unless I wanted to wait longer than they originally told me) with a window sticker for a Tucson Lexus dealer that apparently they swapped with. I never understood what really happened, but I never really felt I got the truth about anything from them.
