Has anyone here completed any exhaust mods, without actually replacing the entire exhaust? I disabled the valves, but it didn't make that much a difference to me. I saw someone post on a Facebook LC500 forum that he actually removed both mufflers and I have seen other posts where owners have removed just the resonators. I would prefer a better sounding exhaust, but can't justify the expense of a fully replaced system.

I removed the resonators and secondary cats on my three previous CLS550's will excellent results. Near AMG sound for a fraction of the cost and was hoping I can do something similar to the LC.

Any thoughts?

Good point! Specifically, louder without being too loud of course.

 

Of every car available in America this is about the last one I’d alter the sound on. But I also have a true dedicated track car (Lotus) so can get more raucous if the mood strikes. Lexus did a splendid job with tone and volume.

Nonetheless plenty folks just routinely change things. A fun hobby.

 

I should have been more clear with the original post. I absolutely LOVE the sound my LC makes!! I just want it a little louder without being obnoxiously loud.........

 

try running with the windows down, stereo off, and in a low gear with your revs churning over 5000...pretty good rumble

 

you could also change the air intakes

 

Go with the Tom's cat-back and don't mess with the resonator or catalytic converter. It will sound like Sport+ + all the time. I love the sound mine makes.

I have heard an LC with resonator & converters removed and it is obnoxiously loud (not to mention illegal) and I ride a Harley so you know I love louder pipes!
