That’s why there is a volume control. And a very nice one too. A favorite feature of the LC.
With top down at speed full volume is not all that loud. Top up, it’s more than most people will need.
But I have seen Pink Floyd on 13th row in a stadium, among many other sonic adventures. Hearing remains very good, but some music just does not makes sense at 40. It was composed for “full volume”

and pink floyd, good choice, i went to a concert of theirs on the same day i became a u.s. citizen.

Saw them twice in three days, Division bell tour. NC State, then Clemson. Opened my eyes to a lot.
But saw Grateful Dead 46 times. Their music does not always “require” a lot of volume, but good to have some solid amps and speakers when it’s appropriate.
These days I’m listening to modern jazz a lot. Getting that plastic “Robot fart panel” out of the car changed the whole experience. It was truly unlistenable before.

Wow. I just picked up the LC Convertible two weeks ago. Did not notice any issues with the sound system on mine. But maybe I did not play it loud enough. My prior car was a RC F. I loved the system on that. Did have a small issue with rattles one time. My Dealer took care of it and I never had the issue again. It will be interesting to see what Lexus does if this impacts all of the convertibles. I think they will solve the problem. They put great sound systems in the cars. We need to be able to enjoy them.
The sounds coming from that cover varied a lot but they were of course low frequency and sort of raspy. Violent at times. Drawn out at others. Never heard a robot expel waste gases but in my imagination the reverberations from that cover resemble what we’d have in such a cartoon.
Similarly, we sat at the start/finish line of the British Grand Prix a few years back (before these V6 turbo hybrid days). There with my teenage son, a great thing to do.
We said the cars sound like mechanical dragons. We have not seen mechanical dragons, but those cars at 19,000 rpm got our attention in a way similar to a fire breathing beast.

Followed the lead of Mbova77. About 20 minutes with some snips. Plastic is very soft, there is a black cloth layer under the outer caramel layer (sounds delicious). Snips with rounded tips recommended as he used.
There is less protection for the subwoofer driver. Note: no quick forceful movements of sharp objects in cargo area.
Hopefully Lexus will provide a functional guard similar to what was done for some folks with brake pads that squealed a lot. Neither of our LC have had that issue, but some did and different pads were provided.
Even if they do not follow through with this, it will be ok in our car. But it ought to be corrected for future cars, and provided for folks who are not eager to start cutting on a new car.

I reported it to my dealer during my 5k service. This was back around May 2021. They did some testing and noticed it as well. They did confirm it has been reported mostly by owners of the vert. And they "say" that Lexus is looking into the problem. Albeit as many of you know with any car manufacturer they tend to only write up service bulletins on issues that are reported more often. With that said if others on this forum can complain to the dealer that may help. I would guess for something like this they may fix in future builds but not retro. Good to see some have played with DYI fixes. I will have to try it on my vert. Candidly even with most songs with strong bass I rarely hear it. I did however pull the cover the other day because it was bugging me.
Looking forward to an almost six hour drive to Barber Motorsports Park tomorrow. Meeting some Lotus pals from the Atlanta area for a tour of the 100 or so Lotus race cars there, largest collection in the country.
Because of this thread, my trip will be much nicer. Much. Thank you all.
Maybe Lexus can just refer owners new and old to this thread. Only right that people know there is an easy solution.

OMG.
Took the cover off.....listened to a couple tracks that always rattle....
Day and night difference. OMG Now I have to figure out how to cut the plastic off the cover since I don't have any rounded snippy tool thingy.

Yep. I thought all those blurrrps and buzzes had to be coming from all over the place, maybe the convertible mechanism itself since the coupe did not have the issue. Awesome to discover how simple the fix is.
This morning I reinstated the Sat radio. Then drove five hours straight including 6 lanes on each side through Atlanta on Friday afternoon 😧
With all the robofarts gone it was my first chance to listen to the system, do any fine tuning. Pretty good system really. Shame that there is essentially no rear pressence for surround effect, but it was a pleasure to sample all sorts of music today at all sorts of volumes.
