My ‘24 factory navigation is based off of google map.
When I’m using CarPlay map, I also use google map. So they’re the same for me.
I do find the previous gen Lexus navigation is very inefficient.

I am OG. (Imagne that.)

If I'm in town here, I've driven here for 50 years. I'm familiar. If I'm not sure, I'll Google it and remember where it is. If I am going long distance, over interstate, I'll remember the interstates
then activate my Phone Nav when I get to where I need detailed steps.

I can enter an address into Google pretty quickly.

I use Google maps with AA. I just with the HUD would show directions when using AA like it does for CarPlay

Depends on the size of the city you live in, but one good reason to check the route every time is in case there are road closures or accidents that would impact the route you're familiar with. You wouldn't necessarily need to keep the navigation running, but it can occasionally save you a bunch of time avoiding an accident.

I'm not sure but the combo might be apple maps + CarPlay for the HUD turn by turn, plus making sure you select that as part of the HUD options from the cluster settings menu

Waze. It’s the Default navigation for me with CarPlay.

Waze through CarPlay is also my go-to. I constantly use it for police and traffic notifications. Using Waze is when I really wish I had a touchscreen; trying to move around on the map is ridiculous. If I could do it on the phone at the same time, it would be helpful, but it doesn’t seem to be an option.

Understanding everyone is different, I disliked the touch-screen. The RXL we turned in had both the touch-screen and touch pad. I found reaching for the touch-screen a distraction (not like the touch pad isn't either). Our new RX has just about everything on the touchscreen (what isn't is in the HUD controls). I find it distracting also. I think things that are utilized for everyday driving like Cruise control, the missing labeled steering wheel controls (now part of HUD), drive mode etc. should be hard switched instead of searching thru menu's. Maybe one gets used to it if it's a daily driver.

I tend to agree with this. I would rather they’ve kept the pad in the ‘24 along with the touch screen and the updated tech so that I can chose which one to use.
I don’t like my screen on all the time. And the time that the screen is off, I see all sorts of fingerprints on it. And it requires a couple of touches and a scroll to turn the screen off.
Even after cleaning it, if I want more heat in the steering wheel or turn it off, I have to turn on the screen and it doesn’t know how to turn it off on its own.
I often time have the map on but at the same time, it’s the same general area I’ve been so kinda sick of looking at the same thing.

I use Google Maps over Bluetooth. After reading this thread, I'll switch to Android Auto. I haven't used AA because it seemed to take over too much, and I was too lazy to make it work for me.
Never used Lexus Nav because in my old ES, it wanted a street address, which I often did not have.
