I just took delivery of my 2024 LC500 convertible. Shortly after that I was in the drivers seat and noticed light coming through where the top closes. I went out side and inspected it and the passenger side closes 1/4 inch from where it should land. we did the business card test and the seal looks good for now. Took it in to the dealer. there book told them to remove the passengers sill plate. the brok that and replaced that. A Lexus field rep said that this 1/4 is within what the consider to be fine. my master mechanic did a video and he and I along with everyone we know has not seen a top like this. Anyone else have this experience with any year?

I've read (in this forum) that Lexus does this to allow for the convertible's body flex.
I know that one opens a can of worms if they try and fix it. I would have to disclose this to another buyer when I sell it and I believe my car has diminished value from the get-go. Have had many convertibles and no top fits like this one. Lexus did a commercial in 1992 with a steel ball saying how every seam on the car was true and accurate.
Mine has same. When I was at dealership they told me that they can adjust it, but then I look at several cars on a lot and saw exact same gap and only from passenger side. And I may say mine was not that bad what I saw on a lot. I decided not to change anything.

I wonder how many years this goes back. just posting the light that I see from the inside. thanks for getting back to me.
The window is closed. You just see light in the gap. I’ve been in the rain and no leeks so fat.
I have a gap but again, none with windows up. I do not notice any wind noise with top up, windows down. I have driven in the rain and did not notice any leaks. The pictured gap does seem out of tolerance. I would have dealer adjust.
I had a 2021 Convertible for a bit. No light was coming through my seals. I wouldn't buy one if I saw this pre-sale... Water is advantageous..any open door it will enter.. I can't imagine this cannot be fixed.

I don't think it can be adjusted and the Lexus district service manager said we can do nothing. I have been an auto parts dealer and have many parts made for over 42 years. My friends say was that a Kia you bought. I have a customer who owns a Mercedes dealership and recommended I put in a formal complaint. I will start there. Thanks for responding to my threads John
