LC video thread
From the video:
SEBRING INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY Took my LC500 to try autocross for the first time ever. Here's video of my final run which was also my fastest. Video includes forward facing POV camera and rear facing cabin view overlaid. What a fun day! Even got to go for a ride-along on the Sebring International Raceway in a Porsche 718 Cayman Spyder, unfortunately no video of that. What do you think of my DIY vinyl "meatball" number?
Great video Tec. It's good to know the LC will work great during evasive maneuvering in traffic! During the LPDS, I took out so many cones on my last autocross run it was embarrassing. Think I would have had a stomach ache if it was my personal vehicle and did that.
Here are my videos taken the best laps of my second and third sessions as Sebring full circuit yesterday. Sorry for the poor camera positioning, should have put on pax side. Helmet takes up half the screen lol.
So much fun but a lot to learn. Turn 17 is a lot harder than it looks, I could not figure out the right approach or line through it.
And this one was probably my best individual lap

I'm not familiar with this video creator, but he talks about the line flow of cars. It's an interesting comparison between the Lexus Sport Concept and the LC.

Probably no topic is more subjective than appearance and aesthetics. As they say, “there is no accounting for taste”. People just like what they like. This guy finds the current LC 500 more attractive than the new Lexus concept car. He’s received major pushback in the video’s comments section where most (Certainly not all) prefer the look of the concept car aesthetics.
I agree with this content provider that the LC 500 is a very elegant and refined design that will always be attractive. Many people in the comment section like the more angular and aggressive looking new car and believe Toyota/ Lexus is moving in the right direction. It was mentioned that this new car with its twin turbo V8 engine will likely have 800+ horsepower.
This suggests to me that Lexus is pursuing the LFA high performance track ready direction and purpose rather than the premium tier refined comfortable GT persona of the LC 500. Seems like Lexus is committed to take on and compete in the horsepower/ 0-60 MPH venue of the European performance cars and the Corvette Z06.. 800 horsepower seems silly to me (No doubt I’m in the minority) but this is what buyers are clamoring for apparently. I believe the LC 500 got so much right in the overall scheme of things.

There is no reason to pay 200k or more for a car you dont have the skill to push 10/10ths. A base C8 Z51 will give an unskilled driver the occasional "hero lap" because it does so much for you (PTM, DCT shifting faster than a human can, etc). A Rush SR (not street legal, dedicated track car with a motorcycle engine) or a built track focused Miata makes more sense and costs far less up front and in consumables.
For street driving at legal speeds (even up to 20mph over the posted limit), the LC is MORE than fast enough and has the benefit of being far more refined and comfortable.
