Hi CL
I'm currently have 19 wheels with the following specs: 19x8.5 +35 and 9.5+40 with 225/35 and 265/30. Been driving around for 2 month, ride is pretty harsh which i dont really mind, but i just found out that one of my wheels bent (rear passenger) and my frint driver tire start cupping. So I'm thinking about getting 18 wheels with 40 series tires.
My question is, will the ride quality be better with 40 series tire, and will the chance of bending wheel lower with 40 tires?
TIA

What's the max size wheels/tires you can run on stock IS350?

wheel specs are:
F: 19 x 8.5" +38
R: 19 x 9.5" +45

tires I was looking at:
F: 245/35/19
R: 275/35/19

another persons LFA wheel thread:

they'll fit fine. not sure why this needs reiterating, since in the other thread others have documented that they fit fine.

Any recommendations?
225/40-18. move to the larger size if and only if you find that you have plenty of clearance.

problem is, your tires will be too tall, and your speedometer/odometer will be thrown off.

the difference won't be much between 35 and 40 series tires. you can try wider tires so the sidewalls will be more upright, or tires w/ softer sidewalls (i.e. michelin pilot super sports).

that depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Thanks projectdna, do you mind recommending me tire sizes for 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 with offset 30 and 35. I believe it wont need any fender mods right? I am lowered to no finger gap. Thank you

Well I know 19x8.5 and 9.5 offset 30 and 35 with 235/35 and 260/30 will have minimal rubbing , but will 18x8.5 and 9.5 with 225/40 and 255/40 rub? I believe the tire size is stock size for 18 stock wheels. Car is lowered to no finger gap. My goal is to have 18 wheel with minimal rubbing so I can drive faster than using 19.... sorry for all the question and thank you

Just going for a simple wheel/tire combo. Not looking for the tucked inside the wheel wells look, or where some have the tires angled (not sure what that's called). My goal is to fit something that fills up most of the wheel well gap without rubbing or interference. I don't mind modding a little to make them fit but nothing crazy.

I am buying a set of XXR 521s and they are 18x8.5 and 18x10. I am on BC coils and was wondering if those would fit on my 06 IS350. not sure what the offsets are. tires are 225/40/18 and 245/40/18 if that help.

i searched this thread some more and it said 245/35/19 has a narrow window of fitment, so I think I will go with 235/35/19. 235/35/19 is closer to the stock diameter too. I tried 235/30/19 and 245/30/19 but the tire selection was very slim. For the rears probably going to choose 275/30/19

i can try and guess based on tire size.

but without the exact wheel offsets, my guess is as good as crapshoot.

if you want to run 245 in the front, you'll need to run 30-series (read: 245/30-19).

Hi guys, looking to get back into some flush wheels. Im debating between 19x8.5 +25 19x10 +25 with 215/35/19 and 245/35/19 or 19x8.5 +35 19x9.5 +35 same tires as first spec except id run a 235 width tire in the rear. I dont mind slight rubbing on the lining too much but im more worried about destroying my fromt fender tabs breaking, ultimately resulting in my bumper tabs all breaking and eventually caving in which was what happened on my 20x8.5/10 +30 set up. I have flared fenders all around with my tabs relocated in the rear. Im pretty low on megan lp streets with no tire gap on stock 18's. if im gonna run into brackets breaking going with the +25 set up id rather just go conservative. Any thoughts?

unfortunately the 245/30/19 has a horrible selection of tires with 275/30/19. 235/35/19 opens up a LOT more tires.

Thanks for your all your help

225/35 front and 245/35 read. You will need to roll fenders and modify front liners and bumper tab.
