Default How do I remove the third brake light?

I'm planning to get my car tinted this weekend and wanted to remove the third brake light so that the back window could be more easily accessed. I've heard that it might be easy to do - is there a DIY or some simple instructions available?

Thank you!

You need t remove the rear deck. That includes rear seat (bottom & back), and the C pillar covers.

No, nothing like that. It pulls off pretty easily. You won't get the stand, but you'll get plenty of room to work.

IIRC, to remove the bottom of the base, it has to be done from underneath. When I removed it I also moved the wiring for a different type of light.

True, but there's plenty of room to work with the top removed. I took mine off to clean the glass and it was easy.

Very easy to remove the top part, pretty much just pull it straight up.
