Considering E92 M3 to IS F
I currently own a e92 m3 zcp with dct; love the sound and pretty happy with the car. For couple reasons that I won’t go into, I am thinking of taking a break from German cars. Cars that are on sale do not interest me much(except for maybe rs3 but that’s german too!) I briefly owned a gsf which I liked but was too big for my liking. Civic type r intrigues me but can’t get over the styling...same for wrx sti. My budget is around 40k. There’s a 2012 with low miles and thinking of putting deposit.
Anybody went from m3 to isf? Thanks. BK

Yes, but was an E46M. But when I shopped the ISF I was leaning much heavier towards an E92M which is still one of my favorite cars.
I opted for the F because at the time I was commuting for my job. Needed something I could rack up miles on with pretty much zero issues or even worry about issues.
130K miles, basic bolt ons, no history of a single failure item, just maintenance, and beat on it regularly.
A supercharged E92 is still likely to be added to my vehicle collection in the future though. I just wouldn’t daily it.

My girlfriend has a 13' E92 M3, DCT. It has exhaust, wheels, coilovers and I recently put a GT4 front lip on. I can say this from driving both (and I still own my E46 M3). The M3 out of the box handles much better than the IS-F, or at least feels like it. Revving the motor out to 8250 RPMS is a bit overhyped though after experiencing the range of torque the IS-F has. I' owned an E60 M5 before as well so I know the thrill, that had more mphhh though.
I'll say this, driving and handling experience of the BMW is amazing. Cost of things going wrong is frustrating though, and things will go wrong.
The IS-F although may not be the most exciting thing to drive, makes up for it in raw acceleration, reliability and comfort. Worst case you can always make it into a handling machine.

I love this car.
.exactly that. I’ll own it until it’s 30 years old or more.
I just saw a late 90s M3 this summer. I haven’t seen an old M3 in a LONG time. They have gone extinct around here.
