If money is never the concern I would take both.

LOL !!! but, just out of curiosity, would you then feel like you are getting two similar cars with similar specs?

I'm honestly thinking of trading in my 335 vert for a m3 vert. Lately its been a PITA to own a 335i w/ decent mods.

but yeah, i would take both as well

not actually owning it, but its a PITA to mod it. Actually hell, I've come from a long line of lexus, so yeah its a PITA to own a bimmer period. The morning after i brought it home, in the morning, with only 20 miles on it, i get a 5 sec crank and nearly **** my pants. I've been having crank issues lately, but my dealer refuse to fix it until something really bad happens.

back on topic, i chose the IS-F for that simple reason above.

Both are great cars, I do think thw ISF is a bit more different and quirky in a good way. I looked at many cars before etting mine, including M3 and 335 as well as Evo and c63. I am pleasantly shocked with the ISF and I have owned quite a few interesting cars along the way, hope that helps.

BOTH! An Ultrasonic Blue/White IS-F and a White/Red M3 should suffice.

The M3 cause the IS-F is too similar to the IS350 in design.... plus the M3 is a beautiful car...stared at it in person for like 5 minutes... people must have thought I was planning to steal it...

I'd still get the IS-F. Much better fuel economy - I get almost 20 mpg in all suburb (no highway) driving. Plus, I get the reliability of Lexus over BMW. Now, if the M3 with DCT, nav, etc. were 55K, I'd get the M3. I simply like Lexus over the BMW and MB because of reliability. People who've owned enough BMW and MB will tell you that statistically, Lexus is another level ahead in reliability.

I spoke with a service advisor of Field's BMW in Chicago and he told me not to buy a BMW - especially the present gen 7 series.

I'm not talking about owning 1 bmw or 1 mb or 1 lexus. Our family as a whole has had numerous BMWs, MBs, and Lexus and I can tell you that it's a crappy feeling when you get stranded on a highway with a brand new BMW and people staring at you. Of course they don't pity you because you got a BMW. It really sucks when the MB you get and the heat stops working 2 months after purchase (in the dead of winter), or that a freaking sensor and some miscellaneous stuff costs 3K (S500). Etc. etc. etc. While the 5 lexus we had - total cost of repairs? ZERO. But it's not the cost, it's also the inconvenience of GOING to the dealership. I took my ML500 to the dealership like 10 times the first year!!! Our 328i went in 7 times for warrantee work.

NOW, if the C63 had the IS-F's tranny AND was as reliable, I'd get the C63. Actually, I'd rather have the AMG 6.2 liter in my IS-F.

The choice between M3 and ISF was one that I had to ask myself for several months before finally deciding on the Lexus.. I have owned both a 2007 BMW 335i and '06 and '07 IS350s... never had even one single problem with either Lexus, but had multiple problems with the Bimmer (I also had the problem with extra long crank times at startup - its a bad high pressure fuel pump).. Lexus interior/Nav/technology is way better than Bimmer.. Bimmer handles slightly better (stiffer body/frame design), but the overall driving and ownership experience is definitely in Lexus' favor ... My choice is the ISF -- And of course the M3 fully loaded with similar features to the ISF costs $10k more excluding dealer markup..

Honestly IS-F (even though people call it IS250-F)

Because mainly the new M3 doesnt quite "woo me". But since im on a lexus forum ive learned so much about the IS-F that i know what to expect and where everything is. But if i was on a bimmer forum and i might learn a lot about the m3 and my opinion might change.
