Default Tire (semi) Rant

This has not been a good week.
My 2010 is a road hazard magnet. I have 6700 miles on it and I am in the process of replacing my 3rd and 4th tires.

#1 - I picked up a nail on the way home from the dealer when I got the car 2 years ago.
#2 - 2nd tire side wall layers seperated (about a year ago)

This week 3 and 4.

#3 - Pot hole cut the side wall of the tire deep enough to require replacement

#4 - While looking at #3 we discovered a nail in the shoulder of the 4th tire (not in the picture) and a deep slice down to the plies through the sidewall.

At this point, with a $900 bill for 2 tires I am thrilled I took out the Tire and Wheel coverage for the car. It has now more than paid for itself and all i have to do is deal with the stalling of the Insurance company.

I have never had an issue like this with road debris/tires before. Hope never to again

The roads in CT are getting worse every year.
They keep stealing road funds for the General Fund

105k miles. Only lost one tire to a railroad track in the fog. My condolences for the bad fortune your tires have.

I had to replace my rear drivers side tire after driving the car for 300 miles. Ran over a piece of wood with lots of nails in it.

man Im sorry to hear it. I am hoping that at least statistically that you will not be in for tire drama for a long time. Thats crazy. I dropped $2300 on a set of Michelin PS2s ( 22") for my LS460 and got i a nail in one the first week. I was pissed. Luckily they tried to repair it and the patch wouldn't stick so they replaced the tire

Yes, CT roads suck. A few years back one of my cars failed inspection because there was a chunk of a CV joint in the tire. And on my Bimmer I cracked a rim from a pot hole.

For every road hazzard you avoid, there'a another one with your name on it.

You missed it in the description.
I was lucky I took out the Wheel and tire coverage when I bought the car. After 4 tires it has more than paid for itself . The replacement of 2 tires at the same time thought is still a pain as is dealing with the insurance carrier.

BTW, the coverage has paid for 6 wheel refins on my wife's ES350.

The tire shop had to patch my driver front tire in two places last week. I'm not sure where I could have picked up two screws in the tire.
