Default I got owned by a nail

So I got a nail in my right rear tire. I went to the tire shop they tried to patch it up the nail was too close to the sidewall. I ended having to pay for a new tire at 3k miles. 450 BUCKS FOR TIRE AND LABOR. One tire. god damn runflats costs so much. How much u guys usually pay for tires?

$450!?!?! Hopefully you bought a warranty for all the tires now to cover replacement! I just did that at DiscountTire (good recommendation, 1SICKGOAT!!!!).

yeah sorry, no room in the vert for a spare, so RFT are necessary.

My Miata has no room for a spare either but run flats are optional. If you don't get them (I didn't), you get a little kit in the trunk with a plug in compressor and some of that injectable sav-a-flat type stuff to get you back to a garage!

throw out the runflats, that's why you get AAA.

careful about plug in compressor, they can damage the TPS (if you have it).

runflats are expension. but imagine in my case. got flat, tire discontinued so had to replace both sides with new tires, and then 1 month later car sold.....

Call me nuts, but I would have rather spent $600-$1000 to replace all 4 tires with good HP radials than to have spent nearly $500 on a single run flat. Knowing me, I probably would have replaced those run flats long ago anyway, but my gosh $450 for 1 run flat? That is just crazy.
