Default Smaller wheels?

I was wondering if anybody has had experience fitting smaller wheels to the IS-F. I know the stock wheels are 19 inches, but I fear that the poor quality of the roads that the car will be subject to will not be kind to the stock rims. Further, the stock setup might not give enough side-wall to be comfortable.

Has anybody had any luck fitting 18 inch wheels to their IS-F? If you have, what would the specs of the wheel be?

Thanks in advance.

Many thanks.

My worry was that the rims would not clear the giant front caliper.

The roads where the car will roam (Malaysia) are not brilliant and 18 inches is about as large as I would go there. I have ridden in many cars with 19 inch wheels and they do not feel quite as assured as those on smaller wheels, thanks to the numerous bumps and undulations.

Does anyone have the fitment details for 18 inch wheels on the IS-F? Is the fitment similar to the IS250/350?

No the offsets are very different. If you search for the road coursing threads you will find the specs your shooting for

Welcome to the site. Do a search, and you'll find lots of folks are using 18" wheels for their winter driving.

I'm running 18" TE37SL on my car. There's plenty of brake clearance up front. Size is 18x10 +40 offset, 265/35/18 hankook rs3 tires.

Personally...too much meat for my taste...lol. I drive my car here in socal...roads are pretty crap but the rims and tires have held up ...no impact bubbles yet.

Oh, I like them. Can we get a full shot of the car and wheels?

I was tempted to down size but got the 19" advans 2nd hand so beggers can't be choosers!

I wasn't able to run a square setup unfortunately. The front wheel barely clears the suspension so I went with a 265 tire up front. I would need a spacer to run anything wider.

That said, with a 285 on the back, the car definitely feels more surefooted. The front turns in better with the wider tire and the increased grip from the rs3's really pulls the car through the corners.

I don't have any good pics of the entire car but you can find a few more here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/7525353-post67.html

Very nice. Looks like I need not worry about rubbing or the calipers. Thank you all.

wow, are those R888 proxies?

In any case. Smaller wheels in general would give you a better experience driving, due to better torque delivery. You would have to lower your standards on looks tho.
