Default LSD 2010+ Wow!

Spending time in my 10' Obsidian has given me a huge appreciation for the LSD back there compared to my 08' without it. Its cornering behavior on 255's is better than my 08' on 275's!
It doesn’t step out of line nearly as easy and when it does it much more correctable. Once in a straight line, it just takes off or smokes the tires evenly depending on the gear I’m in. I can hit corners at much higher speed now and rotate through with a much higher level of confidence. It’s amazing the difference with the LSD, so I thought I’d share.

Yeah, thats the only thing I miss from my other cars...true Limited Slip Diff.

The eLSD and the pre-loaded diff from the 08-09 units is decent...but still doesn't feel like true LSD.

you could simply install an LSD and call it a day - os-giken makes one of the most tunable LSD's on the market and they are well proven to hold up to RETARDED amounts of abuse.

One of the main reasons I wanted a newer F was the true LSD.

... but from a stop the 08-09 ISF is quicker than the 10-12 version.

Same car besides some suspension changes and the diff correct? Why would the 08-09 cars be faster?

I have never been able to tell in my previous cars if the LSD was a factor. But in my 08 F I do feel that things aren't quite right when I take some turns. Good to hear the feedback about the 10+.

How many of you drive your IS F hard enough to truly feel the benefits of the LSD? Probably not many of you...all this talk about performance this performance that...most of us hasn't even taken your car to a drag strip, track or autocross. I bet less than 5% of us have.

Yeah, I question Juanca's comment too. If anything, just the opposite. Torsen LSD = better traction = faster take off.

^^^ I have and I can tell you that the difference between pre-LSD and LSD is measurable in the 1/8 mile (the only track I have in my area). I don't care about my times, this track sucks big time, but at least it helps me measuring mods (kind of a cheap dyno session). I've had way better times at PBIR (old Moroso) but I don't go there often.

These are some numbers that I remember from my visits to the local track:

2013 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302
8.5s @ 86 mph

2010 NISSAN GT-R
7.9s @ ???

2010 CORVETTE Z06
8.1s @ ???

2008 LEXUS ISF stock (mine)
8.5s @ 86 mph

2008 LEXUS ISF w/ JoeZ intake, muffler/cat delete, MHP "tune" (mine)
8.3s @ 89 mph

2012 LEXUS ISF stock (mine)
8.7s @ 84 mph

2012 LEXUS ISF w/ ISS Forged DES, PPE header, JoeZ intake (mine)
8.5s @ 86 mph

I thought I should be quicker than my previous ISF but no, it's not happening yet. I'm still wondering about the intake, I think my car needs more air, besides this has been a cruel summer and that may be affecting my 2012 times. Outside a drag strip the 2010-2012 ISF should be faster than the previous years.

Anecdotal data for sure, but data nonetheless to back it up. Good info Juanca.
