LSD 2010+ Wow!
Without labor, the pumpking and misc parts (bolts, etc) was around 4-5k.
Also remember the difference between the two. The Factory unit is a Torsen differential that is a gear type, the OS Gikken is a clutch pack type. The clutch pack type can be finicky as it sometimes needs a certain amount of "friction modifier" added to the gear oil to make sure the clutches behave as they should.
I think your best bet is wait for someone to crash their 10+ model and buy the pumpkin from a junkyard :P
How many of you drive your IS F hard enough to truly feel the benefits of the LSD? Probably not many of you...all this talk about performance this performance that...most of us hasn't even taken your car to a drag strip, track or autocross. I bet less than 5% of us have.
I can attest to it on a daily basis. I went from an '08 -F (no LSD), awful, sloppy rear-handling, to a (few cars), to a '10 and the handling when coming out of a corner under heavy throttle is completely different, as it should be. The only annoying thing about the differential is making u-turn's

^^^ I have and I can tell you that the difference between pre-LSD and LSD is measurable in the 1/8 mile (the only track I have in my area). I don't care about my times, this track sucks big time, but at least it helps me measuring mods (kind of a cheap dyno session). I've had way better times at PBIR (old Moroso) but I don't go there often.
These are some numbers that I remember from my visits to the local track:
2013 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302
8.5s @ 86 mph
2010 NISSAN GT-R
7.9s @ ???
2010 CORVETTE Z06
8.1s @ ???
2008 LEXUS ISF stock (mine)
8.5s @ 86 mph
2008 LEXUS ISF w/ JoeZ intake, muffler/cat delete, MHP "tune" (mine)
8.3s @ 89 mph
2012 LEXUS ISF stock (mine)
8.7s @ 84 mph
2012 LEXUS ISF w/ ISS Forged DES, PPE header, JoeZ intake (mine)
8.5s @ 86 mph
I thought I should be quicker than my previous ISF but no, it's not happening yet. I'm still wondering about the intake, I think my car needs more air, besides this has been a cruel summer and that may be affecting my 2012 times. Outside a drag strip the 2010-2012 ISF should be faster than the previous years.

you think weather was that big of a factor?
^^^ Weather has to be a factor, I don't know how much this extreme Miami hot weather is affecting my times though. I'll post more times around October/November, hopefully numbers will improve.
People have told me that one of my rear wheels spins when launching for the quarter mile. Don't know if that happens when the fluid overheats or is a more regular occurrence without a real LSD.
The rear definitely feels artificial around tight turns (jerky slip and grip) ? e-lsd effect.
