Unless you have the Prestigious Society module or cut up some wires to freely type in a destination or address, you can't input it while in motion. I find this to be a safer method, though many have found it a pain. It's pretty much texting while driving, I think, and I'm glad that Lexus doesn't succumb to other brands in allowing inputs as we drive.
Complete nonsense. The passenger could interact with the nav, or the driver could do it at a stop light.
You know something is up when a google search for "lexus navigation while driving" turns up nothing but ways to defeat the navigation nanny.
Shame on Toyota.
LOL of course you can interact with the screen at a stop - actually anything under 3mph I believe. I agree the passenger could interact with the screen and it's something I've wanted for a while, however the voice command is very effective and really eliminates the need for that. Incidentally there are many different versions of the nav which has continually been approved upon. The voice command in my 05 GX470 is F'ing worthless, but that gen nav had a secret code/override that allowed you to type while driving. Anyway, the nav in 2010+ models is great.
