For sure in California. When I rode motorcycles exclusively for transportation, I always had 3 points on my license, and every time one would drop off I managed to get another along with a warning from DMV that I would have my license suspended if I got one more. It finally cleared up after I moved overseas for three years and they all dropped off.

The California DMV handbook says 4 points in one year. 6 points in two years. 8 points in three.

Here you go (it is a pdf file). I would assume violation of code 22358 and the approximate fine is on page 45. $266

I got pulled over on the way to the opening day of the track in ennis texas. State troopers were checking peoples drivers license by pulling over for no front plate. He got my buddy i was following, then 10 minutes another one pulled me over. He said you going to the track, I said yes, he said this is new car right? I said yes, he said don't tear it up.

he gave us all written warnings.

I had a court date this morning.

Though they did reduce the ticket from $147 to $87 and 3 demerits to 2.

Ticket was still bs...but my time is worth more than continuing to fight it....lol.

Was he hiding and using a radar?? or just pacing you??

I have to get me a radar detector real soon.

It just might be cheaper than a speeding ticket or traffic school..

BTW - I took this picture with my cell phone a few months ago, just next door from Carson Toyota

I thought it was thread appropriate...

Double the speed limit+ is automatic loss of license. Twelve points in three years is another way but I have heard several times recently of the cop pulling someone over and headquarters will say "carrying 15" or some crazy figure. Once heard the cop radio back on a 22 point pull over "Print for my memorabilia" School here reduces 3 points or an insurance break if you have no points.
