Thumbs up Performance drop in filter!!!!!

Hi again guys, sorry for the late response about the drop in filter for the ISF,had lot of work this last days. I have receive my filter last week and it works, fit and sound awesome. Since there was no company making it for the F, what I did was take the oem and measured. Then the investigation begins and how lucky I am, no I mean, how lucky we are. From all the companys I search I found this K&N part # 33-2069. Maybe this people at K&N dont even know that this filter fits our cars. Please just dont tell any one about it LOL Top Secret LOL.

Great info!!!

We just need to cross referrence this number back into an OEM make & model filter to see what K&N really made this for...

We just might find other drop in filters out there for the IS-F this way..

I jsut bought one... I know my other MAF based cars hate the K&N oil and causes MAF failures (had to keep a stock of MAF sensors in the garage at $150 a pop )... wonder if that will be the case with the ISF

If you are getting oil on your MAF, it is likely there is too much oil on the filter. You can get a can of electronic cleaner at AutoZone to clean your MAF if this happens.

FWIW, K&N put out a statement regarding this problem also:

I just finished checking the Blitz application guide and didn't find any VW filters...

I have a call into Blitz Jp to see if they have any plans for their famous,
dry drop in "SUS POWER AIR FILTER LM " for the IS-F

As seen below for the IS250/IS350...

I think K&N is somewhat wrong, but I also think I probably over-oiled it. You're right that you can usualy clean them, which is what i started to do just last year. The fact that once they are cleaned and work again insinuates that something got on it... probably oil lol

I really like the blitz SUS for the increased flow, but i found it to not really filter all that well...
