RR Tune Upload to Device Error - 'Not a valid FPF file.'
Anyone have this issue when attempting to load the RR tune onto the MyGenius device?
"This is not a valid FPF file. Unable to read it. Unable to decrypt buffer (1) [705]"
I updated the SW and the HW, tried changing the file extension from .myg to .fpf, as well as selecting the 'Unblock' button under file Properties -> Security; all with no success.
The factory file came off the device with a .fpf extension, and the tune file came with a .myg extension, hence the reason for trying to change the file extensions.
From what little I've been able to find online, it may be an issue with the file itself.
I sent RR an email with this same info; I assume there is an easy solution to it but just wanted to see if anyone else has run into this before with their ISF as I didn't find anything in my searches.

Thanks!

Working in IT for 24 years, renaming a file extension does not always successfully transformers it into another file type.
I did look up the 'Myg' extension, it looks like a ROM file type but that's all I was able to find.
Hope you get this resolved. I would give them a call.

I got a response from RR this morning. They suspect it may be an issue with the emails anti-virus protection and sent me the file again to try. I'll give it a go this evening when I get home from work and hopefully I don't have the issue.
No such luck.
Last night I disabled any anti-virus protection on my computer, forwarded the file to a yahoo email, re-updated the software/hardware and changed the file name with no success. I even tried a different Windows computer with no success, the same exact error populated.
This morning I tried uploading the factory tune, and it didn't work either (which from my research, is expected because the file is already on the device). I also tried restarting my computer and that didn't work. I found a thread going through the MyGenius device reset here, and unfortunately that didn't work either.
Ugh. Getting annoyed! What should have been a 5 minute process, I've spent a few hours at this point trying to figure out. It very likely could still be something on my end, but the fact that a different computer yielded similar results has me hesitant on this so really not sure.

Yup - the new tune file from scratch uploaded to the device without hesitation. Was able to get the tune onto the car without issue.
That was annoying but thankfully an easy fix at the end of the day...
Butt dyno feels good! General drivability (namely throttle response) is better. Seems to pull a little harder.
I thought the tune would get rid of my P0420 CEL but it appears that's not the case; I'll have to order a new secondary to get rid of the code I believe.

Communicate that to Rafi. He may not have known you needed that file. Depends on the circumstances.

Quick question for you - was the replacement file also a .MYG file, or was the new one a .FPF file?
Also, did you get the P0420 sorted out?
***Edit*** I received a .MYG file from RR Racing for my tune and it worked great. Did not need to be a .FPF file.
