ISF VIN code designation
I’ve been searching and can’t seem to find anything about this, so I apologize if there is already a thread.
I have a friend at a dealership that talks to current owners about buying back or trading in their cars if there are other buyers, and I’ve been talking to her about seeing how many have ISF’s for when I am ready to buy, however their software for some reason doesn’t have the trim code for ISF. I’m a bit disappointed, however after finding the thread that shows how many were actually built each year, its a bit understandable.
So long story short, I need to find another way of searching for them in their database, and engine cylinders is not a searchable option either. The next thing I can think of is trying to find the specific designation in the VIN code showing it is an ISF, but I cannot find it anywhere in the forum.
What I have found on the ISF’s listed on auto trader though are the following, I just don’t know which part is actually the ISF part.
All 2010-2013’s start with JTHBP5C2
All 2008-2009’s start with JTHBP262
Any help for someone looking to become a fellow ISF owner would be appreciated. Thank you.

IS250/350/F VIN's are all relatively similar, though Toyota updated the VDS across the board for the 2010 MY (to coincide with the resetting of VIN model years to A).
2006-2009: JTH[B/C][K/E/P]262
JTH = Japan-Built, Toyota, Passenger Vehicle
B = 4-door RWD Sedan, C = 4-door AWD Sedan
K = 4GR-FSE Engine (IS250), E = 2GR-FSE Engine (IS350), P = 2UR-GSE Engine (IS F)
2 = GSE20/21/25/USE20 Series
6 = Manual Belts w/ 2 Airbags, Knee Airbags, Side Airbags, Curtain Shield Airbags Restraints
2 = IS250/350/F Car Line
2010-2014: JTH[B/C/F][F/E/P][2/5]C2
JTH = Japan-Built, Toyota, Passenger Vehicle
B = 4-door RWD Sedan, C = 4-door AWD Sedan, F = 2-door Convertible
F = 4GR-FSE Engine (IS250), E = 2GR-FSE Engine (IS350), P = 2UR-GSE Engine (IS F)
2 = Manual Belts, Frontal Airbags, Side Airbags & Knee Airbags (IS C), 5 = Manual Belts, Frontal Airbags, Knee Airbags & Side Airbags, Curtain Shield Airbags (IS Sedan)
C = GSE20/21/25/26/USE20 Series
2 = IS250/250C/350/350C/F Car Line
So, what you're looking for is the P in the 5th position to identify an IS F, after that the 26 will mean 08-09 and 5C will mean 10-14.

Perfect! That was exactly what I was looking for, Thank you! I knew it was the last 5 of the first 8, but didn’t know how Toyota catogorized it, so that is exactly what I was trying to figure out. Really appreciate it.
