Programming key to lower and raise convertible top?
Wondering if there is any way to program the key fob to lower and raise the top when the car is off or on? I’ve lowered the windows down by holding the lock button but that’s about all it does.
Yes; aftermarket smart top module

I’ve contacted mods4cars and they’ve told me that unfortunately they’re product isn’t compatible with Toyota’s or Lexus
It seems that in the older threads someone contacted them as well but their lab is in Vegas. I would’ve gladly helped out but I’m here in Florida. If you know any other alternative feel free let me know.

Look up his account and look for threads he's started.

Watched the video in the above link and it is not what the op asked in the first post. benmunger's mod requires you to press the button in the car's dashboard. The op wanted to operate the top from the keyfob.
Not sure if this is related to why this mod (from the keyfob) isn't easily come by. But there are 15 motors that operate the top, when the engine is off, that's a significant load on the battery. I was told by a Lex mechanic that if any one of those motors have an undervoltage situation, it could cause problems with the motor or the top longevity. It could result in parts of the top closing/opening at slightly different rates (even off by a little bit and you'd trigger the warning system or it could end up being lopsided, which isn't good for the frame, etc).
IOW, BAD idea to run the top without the engine running.

I frequently do the top with the engine off, usually to put it up. Assuming the Lexus mechanic is correct, all you have to do is make sure you have a good battery. Starting the engine to raise/lower the top and then turning off the engine is bad for the engine. So pick your poison.
I keep it running when I'm raising/lowering. IE, I'm either going to start driving it, so the engine stays running while I'm lowering it anyway. Or I'm going to park it, but I let it idle for an 30 seconds extra while I close the top. It also allows me to STOP the process in case something goes wrong.
I don't know why I'd raise/lower the top without the engine running, if I'm intending to drive or park it. I don't use the top otherwise (unless I'm driving it or have been driving it anyway).

I'd rig the fob with a timer to receive a certain amount of lock commands from the fob. That would initiate the remote start, opening or closing of the roof, and then the turning off of the car.
If you are in the pembroke pines FL area we can work on it together.
I can do it with my set up with a combination of timers and a remote start key fob bypass.

You have a extensive knowledge of the car and I salute you. I live in Texas, so I won't be taking you up on your offer to help.

All's good.
