Hi all, long time lurker first time posting here. I have a 2011 C that I've owned for 3 years. Last spring the steering warning light came on and the assist motor would not operate - I replaced the steering control module as it was a simple and inexpensive used part to replace - no change.

Brought it to mechanic and they had me replace the steering rack. A few months later the problem returned. They did an adjustment, issue did not go away (intermittent loss) and after more work they are telling me its a component inside the steering wheel. Is anyone familiar with a module or component for steering inside the steering wheel? They want another 3000 in parts and labor so I'm trying to find out what I can about this.
